A visit to Gösgen nuclear power plant

The Polygon Chemie AG team visited the nuclear power plant Gösgen-Däniken AG and had the opportunity to get an impression of the plant during a guided tour. The Gösgen NPP was put into operation in 1979 and generates about 8 billion kilowatt hours per year with its approximately 550 employees. This covers about 13% of Switzerland’s electricity consumption.

The tour included a walk around the site and a visit to the plant museum and ended with a convivial conclusion in the bistro. It was a successful excursion for the entire team with a lot of interesting information on the topic of energy porduction and safety.
